Amber Sloan is a choreographer, teacher, and performer based in Jersey City. She was a 2023 New Jersey State Council on the Arts Choreography Fellow and her work has been presented throughout the US and in Mexico City. As a dance educator, she has taught modern dance technique, dance composition, improvisation, and body conditioning at institutions including the Ailey School, Boston Ballet's Summer Dance Program, American Ballet Theatre's Summer Intensive, Ridgefield Conservatory of Dance, The Yard on Martha’s Vineyard, Brooklyn Arts Exchange, as well as at various colleges and universities. As a performer, Amber is a member of The Bang Group and has performed in works by James Waring, Doug Elkins, Keely Garfield, Sara Hook, and Stephan Koplowitz. Amber is the Assistant Executive Director of Arts On Site and holds a BFA in Dance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she was honored with the Beverly Blossom/Carey Erickson Alumni Dance Award.
